New EP “…and Justice for Fall” from The Boo Dudes

Howdy – this is Chad posting. I discovered the Boo Dudes on Bandcamp.com a few years ago and have consistently gotten a kick out of their blend of music and (often blistering) humor. They have a new EP called “…and Justice for Fall” that’s just Ghastly Mike Hackenslash singin’ with his guitar, performing murder ballad-esque songs about… well, all the things that make Halloween awesome. As Ghastly Mike puts it:

“You idiots don’t know what you like, I do. Here’s some REAL orthodox Halloween fright rock written by legends of the genre and performed by a legend of the genre. Clowns are not scary… werewolves and ghosts and vampyes are.”

I gotta say, I enjoyed every one of these tracks, both musically and lyrically. While there’s an obvious sense of humor at play in the lyrics (and, at times, the singing style), there’s also respect for the music style and subject matter that pervades the EP. It’ll make you chuckle, but also sounds great on a chilly October evening.
