Some Halloween Music Favorites Get Some New Interpretations
Your 2017 Halloween playlist just got a couple of killer new tracks courtesy of Nine Inch Nails and Scandroid!
THRILLER cover by SCANDROID
Released just in time for the Halloween season, the Scandroid cover of “Thriller” is accompanied by a lyric video paying homage to the original Michael Jackson music video, featuring shots of robotic zombies and werewolves performing “Thriller’s” classic dance moves.
“I knew when I started the album (Monochrome) that I wanted to do a Halloween-related track. It only took me 1/4 of a second to conclude this would be my perfect chance to cover a track I loved during the 80s. I probably watched the ‘Thriller’ music video 100+ times on my parents VCR after I recorded it from MTV.” – Klayton
“Thriller” appears on Scandroid’s upcoming sophomore album Monochrome, available October 27th, 2017.

JOHN CARPENTER’S HALLOWEEN cover by TRENT REZNOR & ATTICUS ROSS
John Carpenter is set to release Anthology: Movie Themes 1974-1998, a collection of 13 of Carpenter’s classic movie themes newly recorded with the collaborators that worked on his Lost Themes albums, next Friday, October 20th via Sacred Bones. To celebrate the impending release, Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross have shared a new version of Carpenter’s iconic “Halloween” theme (appropriately landing on DSPs on Friday the 13th). Reznor adds: “I clearly remember my friends and I at 13 years old conning our parents into letting us see Halloween when it came out in 1978. We left the theater forever changed. We were damaged and scarred, with the shit genuinely scared out of us and that theme stuck firmly in our heads. John Carpenter, it’s your fault that I turned out the way I did.”
