Haunted Halloween: Spooky Sounds to Chill Your Bones! 1991
From Dove Audio in 1991, Haunted Halloween was sold as a cassette in a cheap cardboard sleeve (but featuring some fun, Disney-inspired artwork). This is a great example of the direction these types of offerings were going by the early 1990’s – you can definitely hear more modern influences (particularly John Carpenter-ish synths and Friday the 13th-ish sequences – there’s even a decidedly Lustmord-ish moment around the 17 minute mark) mixed in with the more traditional sound effects (often distorted, but still totally recognizable) that seem to be on every sound effects mix produced since 1950.
