Besides being absolutely brilliant from beginning to end, see if you can spot the Famous Faces (from in front of and behind the camera), then watch the credits at the end to see who you missed…

BoingBoing.net has been posting some choice Halloween morsels this season – take a look below, then head over and go virtual trick or treating on their blog:

JOHN “Q” DE LANCIE READS THE RAVEN

In Chicago, there’s a really interesting (and engrossing) web series happening, and the Cult can’t believe more people don’t know about it (hence this post). It’s called Days of the Living Dead, put together by Joone Studios, and it’s about the notorious Chicago production company Zombie Army Productions, which does Statesville Haunted Prison, The Fear Haunted House at Navy Pier, and other stuff like crazy parties and the occasional film.

Days of the Living Dead is 5 episodes into its second season, and once you watch a couple of episodes, you’ll be hooked; if you happen to love haunted houses, you’ll be doubly hooked to see what goes on behind the scenes.

The Cult of the Great Pumpkin has long thought that the drama behind the scenes of the haunted house industry would make a great reality show. Turns out we were right!

Busy busy busy pumpkin people, we are, so here’s some funny Halloween goodness courtesy of YouTube.

10 years ago, internet-based animated shows were still a relatively new concept, and many animators started experimenting with Macromedia’s Flash program, publishing the results for the world to see. One such animator was Joe Sparks, whose “Radiskull and Devil Doll” series, while short, was an overnight internet sensation.

Episode 2 of Radiskull & Devil Doll, titled “Hella Weenie”, was a particular delight, featuring a Ned Flanders-ish character getting his come-uppance for handing out fruit on Halloween, and Radiskull’s hatred of all things “happy” giving rise to a song in which he expresses an alternate Halloween greeting.

Although it reads as wildly primitive animation today, the song “Very Bad Halloween” at the end still rocks. You can watch the episode below, or go to the original show page and watch it in its native Flash format. Best of all, you can download the MP3 of “Very Bad” for free, courtesy of Mr. Sparks, who did all the music and voiced Radiskull himself. Have a very bad, very sad, disgusting Halloween!

Writer/Director Adam Green (Hatchet, Frozen, Spiral) has been making short films for Halloween for 11 years and The Cult of the Great Pumpkin recently discovered “JACK-CHOP”, a hilarious parody of the Slap Chop commercial. This video is NOT safe for work and NOT child appropriate, but it’s too funny not to post.

See Green’s other Halloween shorts on his website – click “Shorts”, then “The Halloween Shorts”.
